Dance MusicThere are many different kinds of dance music from Viennese waltzes to country two step, and everything in-between - fox trots, jive, swing, Latin, rock 'n roll, polkas, line dancing - even different kinds of "dirty dancing"!!Different strokes for different folks!! Most people enjoy dancing to different kinds of music during an evening, not just one type of music. Bad Dancers?There aren't any BAD Dancers!! Often times, I listen to people make comments such as, "he has no rhythm .... or she can't follow". Sometimes the comments are even more harmful, "what do they think they're trying to do - that looks simply awful", or "he can't dance at all, he's just bopping - maybe he should take some lessons"!!  |

This was the era of the "lost generation", and the "flapper" with her rolled stockings, short skirts, and straight up-and-down look. They scandalized their elders in the cabarets, night clubs, and speakeasies that replaced the ballrooms of pre-war days. Dancing became more informal - close embraces and frequent changes of partners were now socially acceptable.
